Resort Hoka Diu
The Resort Hoka is a modest and charming little hotel. Just 8 km from Diu town and almost touching the Nagoa beach and village, this hotel is surrounded by the 'Hoka' branching palms. At night one can hear the rhythmic swaying and rustling of the trees along with the sound of the sea in the background. The less frequented and safer beaches beyond Nagoa are close by.
Facilities include 10 rooms with attached bathrooms and 3 rooms with common bathrooms. There is a bar and a good garden restaurant that offers excellent sea-food. The rooms are simple yet aesthetically designed and have a private veranda or sitout. The owner thinks that TV is not good for your health and you should enjoy your holiday without one. This is one of the reasons why there are large common areas and room entrances have been designed so that it is easy for the guests to interact if they so desire. However, there is plenty of private space as well.

Getting There
Rail: Ahmedabad (430 km from Diu) and from there to Veraval (90 km) by any of the two overnight trains (Somnath Mail & Girnar Express).
Road: Bus-3-hours:Rs50; Taxi-2-hours:Rs450 to Rs600 from Veraval to Diu. Or you could take a direct bus from Ahmedabad at 9 00 pm and get to Diu early next morning at 7 00 am. The overnight service is privately operated and reasonably comfortable. You need to make reservations beforehand. Tickets cost between Rs 140 to 150. Reliable travel agencies are Sajanand Travels & Shiv Shakti, having their booking and departure points at Paldi Char Rasta or Geeta Mandir, State Transport Bus Station (Ahmedabad). The ST Bus Station is also at Geeta Mandir and there is a bus for Diu between 7 00 and 8 00 am (No reservations required). If you happen to be in Baroda (Vadodara) then there is a direct ST bus which leaves sometime in the evening. There are quite a few direct buses from Rajkot, which is about 7 hours from Diu.
Air: Jet Airways has a service from Mumbai to Diu. Tickets cost between Rs3600 to Rs4000. Unfortunately on days they do not have enough passengers, they simply don't fly. In that eventuality you would have to fly to Bhavnagar, which has more flight connections and is cheaper. Bhavnagar to Diu takes about 4 hours by road.
