Rain Country Resort Kerala

Rain Country Resorts, cradled in the tropical vegetation and under the azure sky of Wayanad, showcases Kerala in its entire splendor. Things to do: The natural scenic beauty of Wayanad and its rich natural resources offer several opportunities for adventure tourism. The hills, rocks and valley, which make the very unique character of Wayanad provide a lot for catering to the ever-increasing demand for adventure tourist.

Pookat lake: A natural fresh water lake surrounded by evergreen forest and rolling hills. Boating and a shopping centre for handicrafts and spices

Kuruvadweep: This 950 acre, uninhabited island is an ideal picnic spot. The wooded stretch of land is home to rare species of birds, orchids and herbs.

Thirunelly Temple: The Thirunelly temple is a marvel of temple architecture. The shrine is shielded with 30 granite columns and the ground is paved with huge square pieces of granite. 

Pazhassi tomb: The memorial of ' the lion of Kerala' - Veera Pazhassi Raja - who organised the guerilla warfare against the British East India Company, is situated at Mananthavady.

The Glass Temple of Kottamunda: The mirrors inside the temple walls reflect images of the icons in the temple's sanctum sanctorum.

Pakshipathalam: This place can be accessed only by trekking. Rare species of birds can be sighted from the watch tower of this bird sanctuary.

Boy's Town: Herbal garden, nature care centre, sericulture unit, perma-culture centre etc., established by the Wayanad Social Service Society and Jean Park (the Indo-Danish project for promoting herbal gardening) are situated here

Chembra Peak: At 2100 m above mean sea level, Chembra is the highest peak in Wayanad and is an ideal area for trekking.

Edakkal Caves: The two caves are located at a height of 1000 m on Ambukutty Mala near Ambalavayal. The New Stone Age pictorial writings on the walls of these natural caves at Edakkal are evidence of the civilisation that existed in these regions in prehistoric times. The caves can be accessed only by a 1 km trekking trail from Edakkal.

Lakkidi: Lakkidi, the gateway to Wayanad, is situated 700 m above mean sea level, at the crest of the Thamarasseri Ghat pass. Lofty peaks, gurgling streams and luxuriant forests add magic to the journey up the winding roads to this hill station.

Accommodation: Constructed in the traditional Kerala architecture, the resort gives guests a choice of cottages with single room, two rooms and three rooms. Rain Country Resorts comprises of eight cottages spread over 20 acres of land situated in a valley between three hills.

Single Room Cottage: For the ultimate solitude seeking guests, comes with an open veranda where one can sit and enjoy the bounty of nature, listen to birds chirping and to occasional animal calls. Fall asleep to the soothing lullaby of the streams trickling through the resort. This luxurious cottage is equipped with modern facilities yet not compromising on Kerala heritage and architectural beauty. Single room cottage has a separate dressing area and bathroom with bath tub. Hot water facility is available.

Two Room Cottages: Two cottages with an open veranda, dressing area and bath room with out bath tubs. Hot water is available in these cottages. Wake up to a misty morning sunshine overlooking the lake within the resort.

Three Room Cottage: This cottage overlooks naturally formed lake in the resort. Equipped with all modern luxurious facilities with separate balcony and open bathrooms with bath tubs ensures that one has all the luxury required and yet close to the nature. Hot water is available to all the rooms.

Eating: The Rain Country Resort specializes in authentic, mouth watering Kerala Cuisine. The food is a rich blend of kerala delicacies specially prepared from hand picked garden fresh vegetables and seafood.

Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian forms of food is prepared with hygiene of the highest order.
