Neemrana Fort Palace Neemrana, Rajasthan
Built since 1464 AD, Neemrana Fort-Palace is among India's oldest boutique resorts. This picturesque site covers 25 acres/10 hectares and the stepped palaces of this architectural jewel cut into the hillside to sprawl over 3 acres/1.2 hectares and rises to 10 levels commanding the most splendid views. Including a vista pool to the horizon. From 1986, the ruins of this Fort-Palace have been sensitively restored and reconstructed.

Getting There
Conveniently located just off the Delhi-Neemrana highway, Neemrana is Rajasthan's closest palace to India's capital. The Neemrana Fort Palace Hotel is 120 km south west of Delhi.
By Air: Delhi is conveniently connected to all the major cities of the world with almost all the major airlines operating out of here. The Delhi airport caters to domestic and international flights.
By Rail: Delhi is connected to almost all the cities in the country by super-fast and express trains. Luxury trains like the Palace-on-Wheels; Fairy Queen, and Royal Orient Express can be taken from Delhi Cantonment railway station.
By Road: New Delhi is connected to all the major cities of the northern India through road. A/C and non-A/C cars and buses can be made available.

The Neemrana Fort is heaven for those who would rather laze around on a holiday than indulge in a lot of activities. The indoor games room provides the recreation in the hotel premises itself. Though the visit to the health club happens to be a must for many.
Neemrana lies close to the national capital of Delhi. Thus, Delhi with all its architectural wonders and other tourist attractions makes an excellent excursion from Neemrana.
Mountain climbing and dune walks
Amongst the must-visits is the 15th century step well of the Raj Kund. This royal reservoir can be used as a swimming pool with the style and strokes of your choice.
Since the Neemrana Heritage Hotel is built on a plateau the Raj Kund is even to as the pool-on-the-plateau.
The ride on the special train, the Fairy Queen is an added attraction of Alwar.
The Bala Quila (Fort) and the sprawling city palace complex or Viney Vilas Mahal are main tourist attractions of Alwar.
The lake beside the city palace is a good tourist spot.
The tomb of Tarang Sultan is another place to visit.
The town of Silisher, famous for its lake, palace lies 20 km southwest of Alwar.
Twelve kilometers from Alwar is the small hill fort of Kesroli.
The thickly wooded Sariska Tiger Reserve is 37 km from Alwar. The picturesque Jai Samand Lake lies 6 km from Alwar.
The state of Rajasthan offers a treasure trove of traditional art and craft items to the travelers. The wafer-thin pottery called kagzi is unique and makes ideal souvenir for the tourist here.

The Neemrana Fort Palace has 46 rooms comprising of doubles, suites and deluxe suites in the 4 palace wings. Each room has its own unique character and history associated with it. Every room has a principal theme giving them the names Malabar room, Barsat Mahal, Chandra Mahal, Mata Mahal, Surya Mahal, Gopi Mahal and the Sheesh Mahal. The furniture and the furnishings in the rooms reveal a fusion of the traditional Indian style with the colonial comfort. The Francisi Mahal is a French colonial suite with study room and verandah. The rooms, their terraces and private balconies give gorgeous views of the greens.
Eating
You may drop in at the different restaurants to treat your taste buds with the Rajasthani and the French cuisines. Thai food too is available is abundance at the Boutique Hotel. Even the Italian cuisine is served. For breakfast you may check out the Raj Mahal and the Hawa Mahal. For the lovely lunch and the sumptuous dinner be at the Aam Khas, Panch Mahal, Amaltasse, Aranya Mahal or the Holi Kund. Though for those in between times feast at the snacks available at the Hawa Mahal and the Maha Burj. The Kitsch-Pitsch of the Maha Burj offers the desert-spiced thali, which an out of the world experience. The well stocked bar is another popular hang out.
