Judge’s Court, Pragpur
The Judge's Court is a 300 year old ancestral home that has been restored using original techniques but with modern plumbing and lighting. The property became famous as Judge Sahib Ki Kothi, and hence it came to be known as The Judge's Court. Located near the village courtyard with an ornamental tank, and a cobbled street leading up to it, this courtyard has captured the atmosphere of its original era, offering an unusual intimacy in the midst of a medieval village.

Things to do
Pragpur : Pragpur with its small population is located at an elevation of about 1800 feet in the Kangra Valley. It nestles below the majestic Dhauladhars – The White Ranges. Said to have been founded in early 17th century to commemorate Princess Prag Rani, Pragpur is unbelievably picturesque having held onto the essence of an earlier era with unchanged shops, cobbled streets, an ornamental village tank, mud plastered and slate roofed houses. The countryside has a gentle rustic beauty and offers safe passage to travellers.
Kangra : Kangra, one of the most panoramic areas in Himachal Pradesh is replete with history and is home to the famous Kangra School of paintings. Around Pragpur:
Comfortable day excursions are possible to Dharamshala (60 km), Mcleodganj, residence of the Dalai Lama (68 km), Palampur (95 km) with a vista of green tea estates and the artists' complex of Andretta.
Haripur-Guler (27 km), the cradle of the Kangra School of Paintings is nearby.
The indomitable Kangra Fort (40 km) is easily accessible.
The River Beas with its unspoilt beaches (6 km) offers the possibility of swimming and angling during season. The landscape is beautiful with a rich variety of flora, fauna, bird life, innumerable small monuments and a special rural ambience for walks and picnics.
The small gauge Kangra Valley Rail System, with most of its control equipment dating to the 1st quarter of this century, traverses the lovely countryside. At dusk the signal for the train is still lit with an oil lamp.
For the spiritually inclined, The Judge's Court offers the ancient altars of worship of Brijeshwari (40 km), Jwalamukhi (20 km), Chintpurni, where wishes are fulfilled (20 km), and for those afflicted with the evil spirit, the shrine of Baba Bharwag Singh (12 km). The Tibetan shrines and the lovely Chapel of St. John in the Wilderness (near Dharamsala) deserve a visit.
