Bandhavgarh National Park : There are over 300 species of birds, including bee eaters the Roller, pied cuckoo, whistling teals, jungle fowl, green pigeon, golden orioles, the Myna, Drongo, Eagles, Minivet, waterfowl, storks, waders, Parakeets and the familiar but spectacular pea fowl. Kanha and Bandhavgarh National Park have been chosen as Tiger Reserves as vital part of the project Tiger. Headed by Mr. Kailash Sankhala, Founder-Director of the internationally acclaimed program, the project was established to protect and increase the population of not only the Bengal tiger, but also of the many other endangered and threatened resident species as well.
